AWKA—NATIONAL chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Victor Umeh, said yesterday that the problem of Boko Haram has continued to escalate because the Federal Government appeared not to have the political will to tackle it.

Addressing newsmen, Umeh said the problem was assuming a more dangerous dimension, advising Christian leaders to rise to the occasion by evolving ways to arrest the situation before their members were wiped out of the country.

According to him, the committee set up by the government to probe the activities of Boko Haram did not achieve anything.

He added that something urgent must be done before the situation got out of hand.

Umeh said APGA would soon take a stand on the activities of Boko Haram in the country, especially the Christmas eve killings at the Catholic Church in Niger State.

“All of us must rise to fight the killings at St Theresa’s Church in Niger State”.

My party, APGA, is still studying the situation after which we will address a press conference to state our position on the matter,” he said.
