By Ozioruva Aliu

BENIN CITY – THE Neo Black Movement (NBM) of Africa has condemned the Christmas eve attack by terrorists in 25 communities of Barkin-Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State and called on the federal government to provide adequate security for the survivors calling on security agencies to ensure such acts are not repeated.

The organization also expressed dismay over the rising rate of insecurity in the country.
A statement by signed by the publicity secretary of the NBM, Reverend Kingsley Izuogu on behalf of the organization and made available to journalists in Benin City stated that insecurity is a rising phenomenon in Nigeria adding that no part of the country is safe as there are reports of killings daily as well as other criminal activities.

The statement said: “We condole with the families of the deceased and hopefully wish the injured quick recovery.

“We are aware that insecurity is at a pacing rate now, caused by many factors, especially the increase in fuel price which has adversely affected all aspects of human endeavours.

“This has made Nigerians to experience grave increase in poverty, inflation and a host of other consequential effects”, the Organisation said

It suggested that to address insecurity, the federal and state governments should tackle the issue of poverty in Nigeria and appealed to President Bola Tinubu for a considerable reduction of fuel price, construction of good roads and renovation of bad ones, provision of employment and job opportunities as well as an upgrade of the security architecture.

The group added that “The state of insecurity in the country is alarming and we must not keep quiet. NBM as a Pan- African organization will always be at the forefront, advocating for the needs, safety and security of all black people worldwide.

“We believe that insecurity will soon be a thing of the past if the Government agrees to perform their duties as they pledged to Nigerians.

“We call on the Government to swing into action now by identifying/naming and dislodging terrorists and their sponsors as well as reducing suffering among the people.
