Finance Commissioner felicitates Deltans in New Year message, calls for stronger ties between govt, people

Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Chief Okenmor Fidelis Tilije, has congratulated the ‘good people’ of the oil-rich state for seeing the beginning of the year as the world usher in the New Year with funfair saying for his Ndokwa nation, 2024 should be a new beginning of stronger tie between the people and the pro-people administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who he described as amiable and quintessential workaholic driven by the desire to turn around the state building on the success of the past.

According to the financial expert and a top-notch banker who made this known at his Obiaruku country home, headquarters of Ukwani Local Government area of the state, Monday, he celebrated the popple of the state for their unflinching loyalty and patriotism to the course of the Oborevwori’s administration in the state noting that the Peoples Democratic Party-led government has so many good tidings up its sleeves in the year 2024 and beyond noting that the people, in the long run, shall be better for it.

Chief Tilije, who many described as a philanthropist and one of the major pillars of hope for his people, said the people have demonstrated superlative followership, love, and solidarity for which Governor Oborevwori and the M.O.R.E team is grateful, noting that the overwhelming support for the administration is encouraging on the platter of which the government is poised to aggressively develop the state infrastructurally while human growth and development takes the front burner.

The achievements of the current administration in the state, Chief Tilije noted is just a bird’s eye view of the many life changing programmes and policies of ‘His Excellency’ who he said has more developmental strategies to unleash on the state to make her the pride of the nation maintaining that, the M.O.R.E. agenda is a handle for the prosperity for all, mantra adding that, turning the state to an industrial hub is not impossible but all hands must be on deck in support for administration for it to attain the desired heights in its giant strides.

In the New Year, Tilije who is the leader of his party in his local government area stressed the need for his people to stay peaceful, law abiding and stand staucly behind the government saying, it is only in a peaceful atmosphere development thrives while he called on them to take advantage of the vocational training programmes of the government to better their lots and make them more employable in the Labour Market.

“As we all welcome the New Year, it is my fervent prayer that Delta State succeeds, may my Governor Succeeds, may the M.O.R.E team excel to deliver superlative service to the people who are the reason for good governance. To the people of the state, in the new year, I pray God prospers, uplifts, and protect them to achieve all the good in 2024. None shall die but live to declare the glory of God. At this time next year, we shall be happier for all that God must have used the governor to achieve in the lives of the people. I pray for wisdom for the man at the helm of affairs in our state – His Excellency Governor Oborevwori – to steer the ship of our state to safety.
