AWKA—Anambra State branch of All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, has sacked the state chairman, Chief Patrick Orjiakor, and named Mr. Bogzy Uzochi to act in his place.
But in a swift reaction, Orjiakor described his alleged removal as mere imagination of people he described as political desperadoes who were out to tarnish his image.
State secretary of the party, Mr. Paul Okoye, had told newsmen in Awka that the removal was part of the on-going restructuring in the party aimed at repositioning it for future elections.
Okoye, along with other state and national officers of the party, said the removal of the chairman became necessary in view of his alleged anti-party activities.
The chairman was accused of refusing to render proper account of his financial transactions and had refused to brief party members in the state on the goings –on in the party at the state and national levels.
