A group of armed robbers, apparently on rampage for Christmas,  raided the  Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, yesterday afternoon, and shot dead  a man, his wife and sales girl.

The incident happened around 2.00 p.m.. The victims were shot dead at their gold shop  for resisting to hand over gold and other ornaments demanded by  the bandits.

The market was deserted by panic-struck traders even after the bandits escaped, while a commercial bank close to market quickly shut its doors.

Security agents arrived the market after the robbers left and were combing the area at the time of this report.

Delta State police spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, an assistant superintendent of police, ASP,  confirmed the incident.
