Name Kogi Stadium after Bada, Amike tells Gov Idris

By KATE OBODO

President of the Nigeria Olympians Association, NOA, Prince Henry Amike has appealed to the governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris to name the Kogi State Stadium after the late Sunday Bada.

Bada was the Technical Director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria(AFN) and also a Superintendent of police before his demise last Monday. Amike who described Bada’s death as a rude shock to the AFN and the country at large, said that he did well for the country as a former athlete and deserves to be immortalised especially in his home state.

“I see his death as a great shock for this country and athletics as a whole. Nobody expected his death especially now that the AFN needs him to display his technical competency as the technical director.

He was one of the greatest athletes Nigeria has ever produced, he was a very friendly person and was also full of life.

Like I said, he was very friendly and unassuming. It was very difficult to know when he was happy or sad. He handled a vital position in the country that everybody was close to him.

He was approachable and receptive to people despite his position. Apart from that, he was a great giver at all times.
