Katsina moves to tackle education challenges

Katsina State government has set up a 20-man committee to monitor the progress and problems of education in the state.

The panel, known as Educational Development Monitoring Committee, EDMC, is to be chaired by the deputy governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari.

According to a statement by the Special Assistant to Governor Ibrahim Shehu, Shema, on Media and Public Relations, Alhaji Sani Shu’aibu Malumfashi, the committee was set up after the State Executive Council, SEC, meeting would also ‘’proffer meaningful solutions to the identified problems, seek advice from individuals and organizations within and outside the state on the improvement of education.’’

The statement read in part, ‘’Governor Ibrahim Shema, who chaired the SEC meeting, says the committee will, among other things, monitor the progress and problems of education in Katsina State.
