Imo House probes alleged missing N10bn

OWERRI – Imo State House of Assembly yesterday set up an ad-hoc committee to probe an alleged missing N10 billion from the state government coffers.

The committee is headed by the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Donatus Ozoemenam.

Other members includes Greg Okemili, Mr. Victor Ndunagu, Mr. Mike Ndubuaku, Mr. Ikechukwu Amuka, Mr. Robertson Ekwebelem and Mrs. Ngozi Pat-Ekeji.

Those to appear before the House ad-hoc committee are the state Commissioner for Finance, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, managers of some commercial banks, past and present Accountant-Generals of the state, Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Affairs and others.

Vanguard gathered that they are expected to explain the circumstances surrounding the alleged missing billions before the Assembly takes disciplinary action against anybody or group of persons found wanting.
