AKURE – At least 11 professional mountain climbers are expected from Spain and South Africa at the third edition of Mare Festival slated for between December 15 and 17 this year in Idanre, area of Ondo state.

Already, three Mountain climbers have arrived the state from South Africa ahead of the competition.

Meanwhile the state government has redeemed the promise of scholarship and an overseas trip to the winner of the 2009 Mare festival mountain climbing Master Sunday Akinwumi.

Addressing newsmen in Akure weekend, the Culture and Tourism Commissioner Deji Falae said that the state government is set to reposition the culture and tourism sector of the state in order to make it a preferred destination in tourism.
