Abuja—All Nigerian Peoples Party, ANPP, Thursday, suspended the party’s candidate for last weekend’s governorship election in Kogi State, Elder Obollo Okpanachi, and the state chairman of the party, Mr. Patrick Daudu for anti-party activities.
The party’s National Working Committee at an emergency session, yesterday, in Abuja said a three-man disciplinary committee has also been set up to try the duo.
The party was apparently reacting to the quick acceptance of the result of the last governorship election by the party leadership in Kogi despite allegation of rigging by Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, had said that it would go to the tribunal to challenge the election in which Idris Wada of PDP was declared winner.
ANPP said the disciplinary committee, headed by Mr. Salisu Fagge, is to give the two officers of the party in Kogi the opportunity to fair hearing.
