ADO-EKITI—Police in Ekiti State has arrested a 35-year old man, Innocent Eze for allegedly defiling a 12-year old primary school pupil, (names withheld) at Ijan Ekiti in Gbonyin Local Government area of the state.

Eze, who earlier bolted is now cooling off at State Police headquarters in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.

Narrating her ordeals in the hand of the suspect, the victim said she went to the neighbourhood to fetch water from the well where she was accosted by Eze at about 3 p.m last week Wednesday who asked her to help him fetch a bucket of water.

The under-aged girl said she declined because Eze was a stranger in the area and that her grandmother would be offended if she assisted a stranger.

She said: “When he realized that I was not ready to help him to fetch the water, he immediately pounced on me, carried me shoulder-high and took me to an uncompleted portion of the building where he lives, tore my cloth and had sex with me.”

She claimed the suspect stuffed her mouth with a rag to prevent her from raising alarm and attracting the people in the neighbourhood.

‘’After the sex, I was bleeding profusely, he then gave me N100 to buy drugs and he fled. When I could not rise from the spot where he raped. The younger brother to Eze’s landlord, Mr Abdul Abu saw me and raised alarm”.
