BENIN—THREE students of the University of Benin were awarded scholarships by the Hayford Alile Foundation at its maiden National Entrepreneurial Lectures and Awards in Benin yesterday.
The students are Mr. Etinosa Ekomwenrenren, a 300 level student in the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Miss Otasowie Jennifer Osagie, a 200 level student in the Department of Fine/Applied Arts and Miss Omobude Aisosa, a third year student of Fishery in the Faculty of Agriculture.
Each of the recipients was given N300, 000 to cover tuition fees among other expenses for the 2010 – 2011 academic sessions.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairman of the Foundation and former Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Apostle Hayford Alile, said the Foundation was set up with three major objectives; namely, to assist financially handicapped but brilliant Nigerian students through scholarships and advisory services, assist young Nigerian entrepreneurs to realize their business dreams and to organize topical learning events, lectures, awards and submits among others.
