PORT HARCOURT – TRADITIONAL rulers in the Niger Delta have enjoined the Federal Government to give special attention to the development of health institutions in the region.
Speaking under the aegis of Royal Fathers of Niger Delta, the Public Relations Officer of the association, Chief Gaskin Sobrasuaipiri said most health care services in the region had collapsed.
Sobrasuaipiri further asked governors in the Niger Delta region to also develop the health institutions in the area.
He lamented the death of a five-year-old daughter of a first class traditional ruler in the region who died recently in Buguma, Rivers State because of what he termed lack of healthcare facilities.
Chief Sobrasuaipiri who maintained that government should give priority to the development of effective health care delivery, however, lauded the Federal Government for conferring the Commander of the Federal Republic, CFR on the Amanyanabo of Kalabari, King T.J.T Princewill.
