Victory International school Ajegunle Thursday emerged winners of the the annual Peakline Sports 5-A-Side football competition after defeating Cardoso School 3-2 at St Mary’s catholic church playground, Ajegunle -Apapa.

Chukwu Chinedu scored twice for the victorious team and his contributions were not in vain as he was named as man of the match

The competition which involved primary and secondary schools, saw Mavir Leaders College winning the girls’ trophy after recording a 2-0 victory over Givic College. In the primary school category, VKC Primary School went home with the tournament cup after a hard-fought encounter which ended 4-2. Apkan was marveled on the performance from his school VKC as Emmanuel Akinrunton displayed on what his is talented with and urged other children to learn from it

The educational secretary, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Council, Adeogun, Adio Adewale and the representative of the Lagos State Commissioner of police Umaro Bello expressed satisfaction about the tournament.

They called on other organisations to take a cue from what Peakline Sports World were doing as government alone cannot fund sports.
