AGBOR— ACTION Congress of Nigeria, ACN, candidate for Ika Federal Constituency in last April’s elections, Dr. Isioma Okobah, weekend, in Agbor, Ika Local Government Area of Delta State, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to shelve the planned removal of fuel subsidy to avoid worsening the poverty and hardship in the country.
Okobah, who spoke while addressing the people of Igbodo during a town hall meeting, maintained that fuel subsidy removal was ill-timed. She said majority of Nigerians were going through hard times.
She re-affirmed her irrevocable commitment to grassroots welfare and development of Ika Federal Constituency.
The medical doctor-turned politician who is also the President of Delta Doctors in Diaspora, said: “I am still on consultation. There is no final verdict yet on the Ika Federal Constituency election petition.
“I won’t forget you. I count on your support.”
It will be recalled that the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba had nullified the House of Representatives election in Ika North-East Local Government Area and ordered fresh election to determine the winner of the election to Ika Federal Constituency seat.
