New Camry, masterpiece, irresistible – TNL boss

THE Managing Director of Toyota Nigeria Limited, Mr. C. K. Thampy has described the new Toyota Camry as another masterpiece from Toyota to the Nigerian auto market. Mr. Thampy who was speaking at the unveiling of the new Camry at Oceanview Restaurant, Lagos recently, said that the new Camry is another irresistible trailblazer and new definition of luxury and comfort.

According to him,  the introduction of the 2012 Camry  was in line  with the “Customer First” philosophy of Toyota Motor Corporation, which is  “aimed  at continually connecting with the ever growing tastes and desires of their customers by introducing models that were at par with current trends in the  world markets”.

He noted that Toyota Nigeria Limited  is always encouraged  to push the frontiers of technology to the benefit of all stakeholders in the industry, pointing out that owners of the new Camry will discover an excellent on-road performer.

“ In totality,  with its improved aesthetic endowments over its predecessors and its contemporaries, the new generation Camry is a well packaged auto invention, an assemblage of what truly constitutes the hallmarks of luxury in motion, a symbol of corporate and stately presence that exudes and personifies the confidence of its owner”.

According to Thampy, Toyota has further accelerated   the quality of  its  after sales service delivery  as well as improve upon  response time in all aspects of  the business  as part of measures to  grow the confidence level of customers.

In his presentation, TNL  Marketing Manager, Mr Bayo Olawoyin, also highlighted the qualities of the Camry model since the introduction of the first model 30 years ago. Now in its seventh generation, he said that the Camry has grown bigger and better.

While explaining the various innovations behind the  new Camry, Olawoyin said it is currently being manufactured in nine factories in eight countries.

According to  him, the  2.4 litre engine has been upgraded to 2.5 litre  and from 5-speed to 6-speed  while  the  3.5litre variant  too has been upgraded with more luxury features for the Nigerian market.

Speaking further Olawoyin explained that the new Camry has also increased in length with 10mm and 5mm in width.

The new Camry boast of nine airbags, keyless entry, cruise control, noise insulation material to prevent outside noise, touch screen audio system, three zone independent air control among others.
