Newly appointed coach of Insurance Football Club of Benin, Bright Omokaro has set his eyes on gaining promotion to the Nigerian Premier League at the end of next season.

He disclosed this to inside Out Premier League after being unveiled as the substantive coach of the Benin based side and said he wants to give back to the club that made him who he is today.

The former Super Eagles star also said that he plans to redeem the club’s image by making them play beautiful football with results.

“First, I want to thank those that took the decision to appoint me as the new coach of the team. I am very happy that this is coming at this time in my life after years of service to the club that made me who I am today.

My target is to get the team into the Premier League at the end of next season because that is where the club belongs. There is no way you can mention football clubs in the country and not mention Insurance of Benin, so I want to redeem its image by restoring quality football along side results,” Omokaro said.

Akwa Utd prepare for new season without funds

Media officer of newly promoted Nigerian Premier League side, Akwa United, Uwem Ekoh has said that the team is going through cash crunch ahead of the start of the new season.

Making this known to Inside Out Premier League from the team’s camp in Uyo, Ekoh said the unavailability of funds is causing strains on the team’s plan of acquiring quality players and also pre-season preparations.

“The only issue we are facing now is that of funds which is not coming as expected from the government. We are hoping that the government will release funds early so we can prepare well enough for the start of the season,” Ekoh said.

On the team’s target for the season, the scribe said that retaining the elite status is paramount before picking a continental ticket would be thought of.

“We are battle ready for the Premier League as quality players are being sort by our coaches. We hope to get these players so we can give teams in the NPL a run for their money. Our target is to stay in the Premier League and if possible, contest for a continental slot,” Ekoh added.

Warri Wolves’ll be better next season – Ebikagboro

Warri Wolves Football Club have promised their teeming fans a better 2011/2012 season as the club unveiled a new General Manager for the club, Tony Rafua.

Spokesman of the club, Timi Ebikagboro revealed to Inside Out Premier League that the club is making effort to ensure they have a better season.

“We are glad we ended on 3rd position despite all odds but we hope to do better next season. We are assuring our teeming fans a better and fruitful season.

For now, we have not regrouped properly until we get new players to beef up the team. So we urge them to continue supporting us and we promise we will not disappoint them,” Ebikagboro stressed.
