ABUJA- SOUTH South leader, Chief Edwin Clark has hailed the Matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty, Mrs Hannah Dideolu Awolowo for attaining the age of 96, describing her as one of the greatest women in Nigeria and a rare mother worthy of emulation.
In a statement signed Monday, the former Federal Commissioner for Information noted that age has not stopped her from carrying out the unity of Yoruba which according to him, ‘’is an inheritance from your beloved husband, Pa Obafemi Awolowo who is in his style of leadership united the Yoruba and this role you continue to play at 96.
‘’The recent meeting of Yoruba leaders in Ikenne, was indeed in pursuance of Yoruba unity, Mama, you are a rare mother worthy of emulation.”
Eulogising her further, the elder statesman in the letter said, ‘’it is indeed a heart filled with joy that I congratulate you on your 96th Birthday. I pray the Almighty God to continue to grant you many years to enable you play the leadership role in Nigeria and the great Oduduwa Kingdom.
“At 96, you are very mentally alert, full of wisdom and speak always with confidence and authority. And these are qualities that stand you out.
‘’As one of the greatest woman leader in Nigeria, God will continue to guide, protect, give you good health and all the qualities that he has bestowed on you, that will continue to make you relevant in our nation.”
