By Bose Adelaja
The Ogun State Commissioner for Eduction, Science and Technology, Olusegun Odubela, has disclosed that the State government would soon form a joint national inspection of schools with the Federal Inspectorate of Education in the state.

The move, according to the Commissioner, would bring about the desired improvement in the standard of eduction in the state secondary schools.

Odubela, who was playing host to the new Federal Inspector of Education in the State, Dr.(Mrs) Aderonke Onodeko, noted that education, being a cornerstone of the present administration, needed all efforts towards raising it to the highest pedestal.

Earlier in her opening remarks, Dr. Mrs Onadeko praised the present administration for embarking on massive rehabilitation of 100 blocks of class rooms; repositioning of the inspectorate department for effective quality assurance, procurement of new curriculum for all public schools and the proposed provision of free text books and other instructional materials for secondary schools in the State, amongst others.

However, she craved for continuous training of state inspectors in quality assurance practices and training of school administrators in order to be up-to-date in their profession.
