BAUCHI— The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, and Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, have asked the Federal and Bauchi State governments to fish out the military officer who allegedly killed a housewife, Mrs. Charity Agbo, in her home on October 19 in Bauchi and also prosecute him.

Mrs. Agbo was allegedly killed by one the soldiers deployed to maintain peace and order during the Yelwa crisis at Anguwan Ngas late last month.

In his reaction, in an interview with Vanguard, NBA Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Alhassan, said: “The killing of an innocent person should not go unpunished, because nobody is above the law; no matter his position or class in the society.

’’It is for this barbaric act, that NBA is calling on the state government to ensure that it makes restitution to the family of Mr Augustine Agbo so that they can have confidence and hope in the judicial system.

The state chapter of CAN, in its reaction, through its Vice-Chairman, Reverend Timothy Aneke, also called on the Federal and Bauchi State governments to investigate the murder of Mrs Abgo, so as to bring the culprits to book.

He said the association was not happy over alleged attempt to sweep the matter under the carpet.
