ABEOKUTA – Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State Monday said the 10,000 Rapid Employment Generation Programme was made to empower the youths and rebuild the state.

Speaking while making a symbolic presentation of letters of appointment to the first batch of the successful candidates at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta, Governor Amosun described the event as the climax of the employment generation process and another fulfilment of his electoral promise, saying “it is a promise made and well kept, in spite of all odds.”

According to him, “The essence of this gesture cannot be over-emphasised.” Employment generation takes a prominent position in our five-cardinal programme, aimed at rebuilding our dear state. This process forms part of our efforts towards empowering our youths, and alleviating poverty.”

The governor said his administration was releasing the appointment letters of the first batch of employees cutting across all cadres with different qualifications from all the 20 local governments of the state.
