Lawmaker accuses Oshiomhole of marginalising Esan

By Simon Ebegbulem
BENIN — Member representing Esan North-East and Esan South-East Federal Constituency of Edo State, Mr. Friday Itulah, yesterday, lamented that the people of Edo Central Senatorial District of the state were the most marginalised in terms of projects and appointments in the current Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN-led government in the state.

Contrary to expectations from efforts by Governor Adams Oshiomhole to purchase water-drilling machines to solve the water problem in Esanland, the lawmaker said there was no water project in the area.

He added that the only water project in Esanland was the one initiated by the former chairman of Board of Trustee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, which he said will be commissioned on November 28 by Vice President Namadi Sambo.

Reacting, state chairman of ACN, Mr. Thomas Okosun, who is from the area, described the allegation as untrue, saying that apart from the water-drilling machines provided by the state government, there are several ongoing road projects being executed by the state government in Esanland.

However, Itulah, who recently celebrated his victory at the Election Petitions Tribunal, insisted: “Oshiom-hole has no water project in Esan North-East Local Government Area. There is no project as we speak.

“His presence is not felt here at all. The only project he purportedly awarded is not working.

“Nobody needs to be told that Esanland is margina-lised by this administration.”
