A group, Okpe Movement for Good Governance, has called on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership in Delta State not to endorse any chairmanship aspirants of the party for Okpe Local Government Election but should provide level playing ground to every contestant in order not to cause crisis.
The group made this known in a press statement signed by Comrade Williams Biokoro and Joshua Daodogwhaye, president and secretary of Okpe Movement for Good Governance adding that the call became necessary as a result of news item in which the trio of Chief Tom Amioku, Honorable Efe Afe and professor Sam Oyavbaire were quoted to have said while inspecting some projects executed by the former Okpe council chairman that they gave him him a pass mark.
The group stated “that the news item was wrong because it tends to give the impression to the outside world, that the trio of Chief Tom Amioku Professor Sam Oyovbaire and Hon. Efe Afe have all endorsed. Honorable Joseph Otirhue, the information is not true, nobody has been endorsed.”
The statement added that professor Oyovbaire when submitting his report to the PDP recently recommended that nobody should be imposed or endorsed, rather a level playing ground should be provided for all those in the race.
