The N1 billion law suit slammed on the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has continued to generate reactions from  football stakeholders even as the Bayelsa-born coach turned down entreaties to seek other avenues to settle with the football house.

A member of the NFF technical committee which recommended the disengagement of Siasia as Super Eagles coach, Paul Bassey told Brila Fm radio in Lagos that Siasia’s decision to go to court smarks of desperation while a former sports commissioner in Ogun State, Bukola Olopade said on the same station that he was ill-advised.

Former Eagles coach and also a member of the NFF technical committee, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde said the issue was a personal one and Siasia’s right which nobody can deny him.

According to Bassey, “Siasia’s action shows how desperate he is, I have seen his contract and the terms were clear on it, so I don’t know why he is going to court,” while Olopade said, “It is wrong for him to resort to the court, who told him there  is no tomorrow, he can always come back to work with the federation and  coach the team again. I think he was ill-advised.”

Onigbinde was quoted by Supersport.com to have said that “If he believes he has a right nobody will stop him from going to court. I don’t have copy of his contract, I think that is an issue between him and his former employer and for the court to determine.”

However, the long standing member of the technical committee for both the continental and world football bodies, CAF and FIFA respectively said he was ready to offer advice to Keshi whom he appointed captain of the Eagles in 1983 and hopes he learns from the pitfall of Siasia.

“The undoing of Siasia was his refusal to listen to advice. I hope Keshi would have learnt a lesson and avoid falling into the same pit. I made him captain in 1983, I will be available to advise him if he asked, I won’t force advice on him. I will only wish him good luck,” he said.
