As Nigerian Football Federation, NFF struggles to get itself out of the mire of the Nation’s series of football failure this year, NFF board member Alhaji Shehu Adamu and veteran coach, Sebastian Broderick have absolved  the NFF leadership from the blame.

For Alhaji Adamu, he believes it is just one of the bad days in the country’s footballing history but nevertheless, opined that the NFF will get the solution right as they go back to the drawing board.

“If you look at it very well, you would discover that African football is developing and it affects the so called giants in the likes of  Nigeria, Cameroon, Egypt, South Africa and Algeria. These countries could not get it right by qualifying for the Nations Cup due to one reason or the other.

I want Nigerians to know that life has two sides (bad and good), so we just had one of our bad days in our footballing history which we cannot refute. We all know how cruel football can be, when it is your off day, there is nothing you can do about it.

“We, as the board of the NFF,  have gone back to the drawing board to look for solutions to the issue as touching the various wrongs done and I know we would surely get a lasting solution to revamp our football,” Alhaji Adamu said.

On his part, Coach Sebastian Broderick, said the Maigari board is not the cause of the problem but those who where there before him.

The China ’85 Golden Eaglet coach said the unwholesome football politicking in the football structure paved way for today’s down slide of our football.

“I don’t like talking about politics in football inasmuch as we cannot separate the two from each other. At different times in our football, different groups have been in the NFF with divergent plans. This time around it has been infested with tug of war in the hierarchy of both the NFF and NPL.

In an unhealthy situation, there is no way things will be right. I can’t blame the Maigari board because our football had already gone down before he took over,” Broderick said.
