Ikeja – The big tree opposite the Nigerian Air Force Base gate along the Murtala Muhammed Airport access road Lagos, on Friday, fell across the road, causing a gridlock.
A correspondent at the scene reported that the tree fell at about 2 p.m. during a downpour.
It was observed that the traffic stretched from the Ikeja bus stop to the toll gate at the International Wing of the airport.
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) generator house at the Presidential Wing of the airport also had part of its roof damaged by the rain.
The Coat of Arm at the Presidential Wing was forced out of the wall, while several electric poles along the road were damaged.
However, some Air Force men spent about 30 minutes before cutting off the tree, to ease the traffic jam. (NAN)
