ICEN gives Reps 4-point agenda to improve economy

The Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria, ICEN, has proposed a four-point agenda to the House of Representatives on how to improve the economy through legislation.

ICEN said that the legislature must formulate legislations that would improve education, steel production, electricity and studying crises in the steel sector; research development in the area of technology as well as increasing the budget proposals on the sectors to encourage development.

This was contained in a commendation letter to the House leadership on its performance since the 7th session of the National Assembly.

ICEN’s letter was signed by the Chief Registrar/Secretary-General of the association,Peter Ikpamejo and Coordinator, South-South Zone, Friday Udoh, to the legislators in Abuja weekend.

The association said that no nation could achieve greatness without educating its citizens, adding that the nation must strive hard to develop the four key sectors to fast- forward the pace of development.
