Wife of the President, Dame Patience Jonathan, has identified kindergarten education as a panacea to the challenges of mass failures in the country.
Dame Jonathan stated this during the opening ceremony of the 2nd National Conference on Kindergarten Education organised by the Empowerment Support Initiative, ESI, founded by the wife of Rivers State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, in Port Harcourt.
She said the mass failure recorded in secondary schools had posed a great challenge to the development of youths, adding that concerted effort should be put in from the early learning stages to avert a total collapse of the educational sector.
Represented by wife of the Vice President, Hajia Amina Sambo, she said stakeholders in the education sector must identify ways of improving kindergarten education in the country.
She said: “I implore you to look into ways in which the education of our children at this level could be improved to lay a solid foundation and restore hope of quality education in Nigeria.”
