The PSV fan that attacked Sevilla keeper, Marko Dmitrovic during their Europa League clash has been sentenced to three months in prison.

The attack transpired at PSV’s home ground, on February 23 with the home side going on to lose 3-2 on aggregate.

The fan invaded the pitch and pounced upon the Serbian keeper, luckily the player wasn’t injured as he put the invader to the ground before stadium security took him away.

Apparently, the marauder was already handed a stadium ban issued by the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) but managed to access a ticket through his friend.

The club remains subjected to a disciplinary case by UEFA as a result of the incident.

The court that issued the punishment to the 20-year-old assailant released a statement on the case, “The suspect not only violated a stadium and area ban, but he also went onto the field in a drunken state to assault a soccer player.

“This is completely disrespectful to the victim, the soccer clubs, and all true supporters of PSV. In addition, the suspect was convicted twice in 2021 for soccer-related offenses,” the statement from the East Brabant District Court ended.

The Dutch team are unbeaten in five matches across all competitions and returns to their league title challenge on Sunday when they face Cambuur.
