ABEOKUTA – The Ogun State Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, has petitioned the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN and Chairman, National Judicial Council, NJC, Justice Dahiru Musdapher, imploring him to disband the National and state Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Abeokuta .
In a swift reaction A CN described the petition as ‘balderdash and stupid.”
PDP in the Petition dated October 14, 2011, to CJN and NJC, by the party’s Acting Secretary, Alhaji. Semiu Sodipo, PDP asked for ‘urgent disqualification of the three justices, handling the petitions from determining the remaining petitions, to avoid ‘riot in Ogun’.
According to the petition “the remaining PDP petitions stand the risk of suffering similar fate like others that were dismissed earlier by the Tribunal.
However, reacting, A C N spokesman, Mr. Sola Lawal said, “The issue is that whoever is beaten must cry. It is the cry of the defeated person. It is unfortunate that we hardly take loss with sportsmanship.
