Under fire Eagles’ coach, Samson Siasia has drew the ire of the team’s top players over his remarks that they are the major problem he faced in his management of the national team.

Siasia whose fate is hanging on the balance after Nigeria crashed out of the 2012 Nations Cup, blamed his frosty relationship with top players like Osaze Odemwingie, John Obi Mikel and Vincent Enyeama for the bad blood, which flowed in the team prior to the dismal performance against Guinea.

However, it was gathered that some of the senior players have registered their displeasure over the utterances of the coach. A Nigeria Football Federation source disclosed during a phone interview that the players have been taken aback with Siasia’s submissions.

“I’m aware that some of the players are not happy with what is going on,” said the NFF member.

He disclosed that there has been dressing room issues and the coach proved that he was not capable of managing the players.

“I know that during there were issues when they went to Madagascar and Dhaka to play Argentina. Even captain Joseph Yobo was almost voicing out his opposition, but had to maintain his cool so that there will be peace.”

With this unfolding drama it is left to be seen how the NFF will douse the tension between the players and the coach, that is if Siasia will continue as manager of the team.

“It is clear that Siasia has not been able to bound with the players. This one thing the NFF must take into consideration when taking a decision on whether to sack or retain Siasia,” said NFF official.
