ONITSHA-Law makers in Anambra State House of Assembly have condemned the recent sack of about 1,800 Anambra indigenes working in the Abia State civil service.

The legislators in a 10- paragraph motion sponsored by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Prince Chukwudi Orizu, Chugbo Enwezor and Dr Emeka Anaebonam, called on the South-East governors forum to call the Abia State governor, Chief Theodore Orji, to order by prevailing on him to rescind his decision to sack non-natives from the state civil service.

The motion states in part: “This Honouable House alerts the South- East governors forum through the chairman and governor of this great state, His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, on the likely dangers and inconveniences  that may result from the retaliatory actions of other state governments in the South-East”.

”His Excellency, Mr Peter Obi, the governor of Anambra State and chairman of the South- East governors forum is passionately urged to intervene by employing appropriate channels to prevail on his counterpart, the governor of Abia State to rescind this patently unconstitutional policy.”
