Yenagoa-Mr. Hillary Okpara has been appointed new Commissioner of Police to Bayelsa State.

He takes over from Mr. Aliyu Musa, whose new designation could not be immediately ascertained. The new Police Commissioner, until his posting to Bayelsa was a Commissioner of Police with the Nigeria Police Seaport Authority, Lagos State.

Okpara has since resumed duty after a brief hand over ceremony at the state Police Command.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Eguavoen Emokpae, urged residents of the state to accord the new commissioner the necessary support and cooperation to enable him discharge his duty.
