FORMER Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Pas-tor Power Aginighan, weekend, urged the Federal Government, particularly the Niger Delta states to immortalise the late Senator Fred Brume.

Aginighan, who spoke during a visit to the family of the late Brume at Mercy Haven in Delta State, described him as a great Nigerian statesman, bridge builder and a fearless cru-sader for better living condi-tions for his people.

He said: “There is no doubt, Nigeria is greatly diminished with the demise of Brume. He was a freedom fighter but didn’t carry AK-47. Urhobo cannot talk about the economic emancipation without mentioning the name of Brume because he was the architect of the establishment of the Delta Steel Company.

“I pray Nigeria and the Niger Delta people immortalise Brume’s name.”

He added that the history of the establishment of NDDC cannot be complete without the mention of late Brume.
