Ibadan – Hundreds of upcoming footballers are expected to turn up for recruitment into a soccer school which commences on Monday at the University of Ibadan.
The school was initiated by Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, the FIFA and CAF Technical Instructor, and the Ibadan-based Fame to Glory Soccer Academy (F2G).
Onigbinde told newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday that the recruitment, which is the first phase, would be the beginning of the actualisation of his dream to lay a solid foundation for the game in Nigeria.
“The path to a solid foundation for our football is now gradually becoming visible”, the former Super Eagles coach said.
He noted that many soccer academies were now scattered around the country, but said that most of them were doing more damage than good to the boys due to ignorance.
Also speaking, F2G boss FemiAwolesi, announced that the second phase of the recruitment, would be held in a month’s time at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun, where the model soccer college is situated. (NAN)
