ABUJA—Senator Abubakar Gada has warned the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, against fielding Governor Aliyu Wamakko as its candidate for the March 10 governorship election in the state, saying it would spell disaster for the party.
Gada said: ‘’Wamakko has not delivered and cannot even deliver. He does not have what it takes to deliver and the society is fed up.
The people are tired and they want a change. And they are clamouring for it. You can see and sense it. Take a phone and make a call to anybody in Sokoto State, they will tell you the input of the state.’’
Gada, who is a governoship aspirant in the party spoke in an interview with newsmen in Abuja yesterday against the backdrop of reports that the 23 local government chairmen in the state had been cajoled to endorse Governor Wamakko for the election.
The Senator represented Sokoto East Senatorial District in the 6th Senate. He also warned that PDP should not think of imposing the incumbent governor on the people as incumbency factor will not work insisting that Wamakko had failed the people of the state.
