ISOLO – Protests have continued in Isolo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State as members of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN,  traders and members of Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba communities took to the streets over alleged attempt by ACN to impose a chairmanship candidate for the October 22 council poll on them.

The protest paralysed commercial activities at the various markets in the area as traders carried placards, calling on the party to reconsider its decision and accept the peoples’ choice.

The protesters, who accused state party chairman, Chief Henry Ajomale, of not following due process, called on the party’s National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, Governor Babatunde Fashola and members of the state House of Assembly to intervene urgently.

The traders also threatened to shut markets in the LCDA, if the party failed to reconsider its decision of imposing an ”unfavourable candidate” on them.

Iyaloja of Ago-Okota Market, Alhaja Jadijat  Kazeem, said: “We are giving the leadership of ACN,  until today to change their decision and allow the peoples candidate to run for the election or the all the markets in the area will be shut down.”
