Lagos State government has called on intending pilgrims to Saudia Arabia for the 2011 pilgrimage to be orderly and law abiding during and after the pilgrimage exercise even as it charged the state ad-hoc committee on hajj to work hard in order to achieve the purpose they were appointed.

The state commissioner for home affairs and culture, Alhaji Oyinlomo Danmole, gave the charge while speaking at a seminar organized for the intending 2011 Hajj Pilgrims at Agidingbi, Lagos.

He warned on over weight luggage, saying that pilgrims were only allowed to carry luggage weighing a maximum of 32 kilogrammes.

Also speaking at the occasion, the chairman of the ad- hoc 2011 hajj committee, Alhaji Abdul Hakeem, disclosed that airlift of pilgrims for the year would commence today.

He added that Lagos State pilgrims would be the first to be air-lifted in the southwest region following the concession of the other states in the region.

He pointed out that this year’s exercise would witness a strict adherence to Islamic injunctions on Hajj operation and warned the pilgrims to be law abiding and cooperate with members of the committee.
