The Managing Director, Arc Lights Ltd, exclusive representative and distributor of LEGO® Education, Mr. Tayo Obasanya has said that unveiling range of education solutions will boost cognitive and creative skills in pre-school, nursery kids, primary school pupils and secondary school students.

The introduction of the LEGO® Education solutions, he said is aimed at equipping school stakeholders which includes school proprietors, administrators and teachers as well as parents and guardians to effectively deliver new learning methods that will boost the cognitive development of their wards and enhance their creative skills in the 2011/2012 Academic Session.

Speaking during a Media Briefing which took place recently at its corporate office, Mr. Tayo Obasanya, Managing Director, Arc Lights Ltd, said that Twenty-first century learning is about providing children with opportunities to experiment with their surroundings as a form of problem solving; it is about improvisation and discovery, constructing dynamic models of real world processes and interacting with meaningful tools that expand mental capacities. It is about being active, creative and collaborative.

He further explained that LEGO® Education solutions are playful means of learning because research in this field have proven that learning is accelerated when play and creativity is involved and have demonstrated that play promotes cognitive development, language, motor abilities and social maturity.

Although the products of LEGO® Education are based on the LEGO® brick, the product range should not be mistaken for toys for schools. They are in fact a wide range of options for teachers and pupils, providing a solid ground in the learning of science concepts through practical exercises.
