Sunshine Stars of Akure coach, Gbenga Ogunbote said that he is not losing sleep over his CAF Confederation Cup semi-final clash against Club Africain of Tunisia.
Ogunbote has three weeks to fashion a winning formula against the Tunisians when they clash at the Gateway Stadium Ijebu-Ode on October 14. He declared that by then he would come up with a strategy that will ensure victory for his team after studying tapes of Club Africain clash with Kaduna United. He stated that Sunshine have come too far in the campaign and therefore they cannot afford to let up.
“At this stage of the competition one should normally expect tough games. We are left at the moment with teams who can contest for the trophy.
“Having gone this far successfully, I don’t think there is any team that can edge us out of the competition.
“Club Africain are a tough side but we are equal to the task.,” Ogunbote said.
Club Africain shocked Kaduna United 1-0 in Kaduna in their last group game. Ogunbote submitted that his players are up to the challenge of stopping the the North Africans.
“The players have no choice than to key into the programme, they want to write their names in gold.
“Our target now is to get to the final. We want to take it bit by bit, then we can think of the trophy,” he said.
