It was a rainy but fun-filled Saturday as Ogudu residents trooped out en masse to participate in the Eva Funwalk, a community based health programme organised by Coca-Cola Nigeria through its premium water brand, Eva.

The Eva Fun Walk is part of Coca-Cola Nigeria’s commitment to making a positive difference in the society and encourages residents to stay in shape by walking, and taking the first step towards developing a healthy lifestyle by engaging in regular cardiovascular exercises.

So far, the walk has taken place in Omole and Lekki neighbourhoods and recently launched in the Ogudu community.

Dr. Wunmi Alabete, a resident of the Ogudu community, said the Eva Funwalk has helped to boost her active lifestyle in more ways than one. “I enjoyed the walk but the aerobics session was even more interesting. I wish the walk can be more frequent than it is now. I have signed up for the Eva Active Club and wish to thank Eva for a job well done.”

Ogudu residents have displayed a great zeal and commitment towards exercise as expressed in their determination to keep walking for fun despite the weather. The Eva Fun Walk, is endorsed by the Lagos State Government. While the first few walks in each new estate are run by Eva, the Eva team then hands over to a group of eager volunteers who continue to run the weekly walk through the Eva Active Club, supported by the Eva brand through an online community network offering health tips, motivation, encouragement and information on leading an active, healthy lifestyle.
