Ilorin- Kwara State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, has asked Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed to explain how he allegedly spent about N16 billion from the Federation Account in his first 100 days in office, without any tangible project to show for the huge income.

Chairman of ACN, Kayode Olawepo threw up the challenge at a briefing to appraise Ahmed’s performance, also urged the state government to make public what it generates as internal revenue monthly.

Olawepo who alleged that the receipts by government from the Federal Government were doctored in the state government’s website, explained that the people witnessed the continuation of capital flight and consistent disregard for transparency which characterised the immediate past administratio of Bukola Saraki between 2003 and 2011 through bogus contracts within the period under review.

Olawepo said; ’’As part of the legacy of corruption and mindless misappropriation of our people’s patrimony, the people of Kwara State are still in the dark as regards the status of the controversial pension package which the sixth House of  Assembly approved for former Governor Saraki.

‘’It is on record that the so-called Pension Bill was not publicly signed following the public outcry that trailed it.

‘’We support our people’s demand to know the status of this Bill, and we are in fact requesting the Abdulfatah Ahmed administration, as part of its 100 days celebrations, to confirm to our people whether the multi-billion naira mansion under construction at the Ahmadu Bello Way in Ilorin was part of the package”.

’’We challenge this administration to tell the public how many of the 72 boreholes claimed to have been drilled are located in each local government of the state, since for example, of the three boreholes purportedly sunk in Pategi Local Government only one is working and this is the observable trend across the state.

’’Worst still, we are aware that these borehole projects are being financed from the local government fund.

‘’Also, we are aware that the classrooms purportedly built by this administration, are also being financed from the local government fund. Where then has the billions of state allocation gone to?,’’ he said.
