A Senior Staff of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC,  has been rescued unhurt after spending four days in the kidnappers den in Warri, while N1.6million collected by his abductors,  as part of N5 million  ransom demanded was also recovered.

Speaking to Vanguard in Asaba, Monday, the State police command’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka said the intensified efforts of officers in the command to checkmate kidnapping was paying off.

He said that the NNPC senior staff , one Godwin Ngbeken on  8th September at 2000 hours  was kidnapped in Warri  and  on 12.9.11, the anti terrorism squad got information, swung into  action and rescued the victim unhurt behind a company in Warri.

“Two of the suspects were arrested. The kidnappers had demanded for  N5 million and recovered from their hideout were one locally made pistol,  9 cartridges 11 different SIM cards and N1 6 million part of unspecified ransom collected by the suspects. Efforts are to arrest the fleeing members of the gang are on”, he added.
