Blessing Okagbare continued Nigeria’s gold chase with a golden leap of 6.50 in the long jump event. She gave Nigeria the only gold medal yesterday.

The other contestants in Taekwondo all settled for bronze.

Sunday Onofe won bronze after losing 17 -12 in the 74 KG to a Tunisian opponent, Trabalesi in the men’s taekwondo event of the All Africa Games.

Another Nigerian, Suleiman won bronze after losing in controversial circumstances to an Egyptian. Suleiman tied 6-6 with his opponent and was the first to record a point as recorded  on the sensor but officials captured it in favour of the Egyptian.
