The 2011 NNPC/Chevron Tennis Summer camp came to a close weekend with 15 players being selected for a coaching clinic starting this weekend till March, when the 2012 Junior Masters is expected to hold.

After three weeks of intensive training by recognised coaches at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, it was time for the player to be rewarded for their hard work and on hand to hand out prizes to the junior players was the General Manager, Policy Government and Public Affairs, Engr Femi Odumabo.

Odumabo, said the participants showed their enthusiasm to learn the rudiment of the game as he charged the players not to take their studies with levity.

The summer camp, which was coordinated by Chris Enahoro, attracted over 100 kids. Enahoro said that the coaching clinic for the lucky 15 will hold every Saturday and Sunday, from 9am to 2am at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club, Onikan.

He thanked Chevron for their sponsorship of the programme while promising that the players will in turn justify the firm’s financial investment in them with good display in future competitions.
