Okaro tasks Siasia on players’ management

By KATE OBODO

Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Okaro (rtd) has expressed reservations with the way that Coach Samson Siasia has been treating erring members of the Super Eagles.

Speaking against the backdrop of the exclusion of first choice goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama from the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in Antananarivo at the weekend and the high-profile international friendly against Argentina in Bangladesh, Okaro said that Siasia must not be quick in punishing erring players.

In an interview with Saturday Sports Vanguard, Okaro, should learn to come down to the level of players and also  act like a father in order to achieve his aim of building a strong Eagles.

“My advice for  Siasia is that he (Siasia) must sit down with the players ; as a father figure. He must bring them together and let them see why certain things should not be done in the team.

When a player is agitating for something he should be able to tell such player that things should not be like that  rather than dropping the player”, said Okaro.
