Former Green Eagles’ left- winger, Felix Owolabi, has said that Nigerians should not judge Super Eagles coach Samson Siasia based on the 3-1 defeat by Argentina.

He said that they should see it as part of the rebuilding process the team need to become better.

“ Nigerians must appreciate the team. They should know that Samson Siasia is rebuilding a new team for Nigeria. A friendly match is one area he uses to see what he has been doing in the last couple of months.

“One of the reasons for playing friendly matches is to know the abilities of individual players and how they can blend in the team. I think Siasia is trying to improve on the team as well as rebuild a house which was on a shaky foundation..Nigerians must be patient with him”, added Owolabi.

The former Shooting Stars player said that Siasia should start mapping out a strategy that would enable Eagles thrash Guinea during next month’s crunch 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

“The Guinea match is very important, so we need to do our best, to win the match; it is a do-or-die match. We have to win and we must win with a wide margin. I know that the match against Madagascar has boosted the confidence of the players and I urge Siasia to build upon that momentum”, Owolabi said.
