Curtain falls on Gulder 5-A-side football

After about two months of football action across the seven zones of the country, the curtain will today be drawn on the 2011 edition of the Gulder 5—A-side football competition.

The Indoor Hall of the National Institute for Sports at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, serves as the perfect venue for the ultimate champions of the exciting game that has gripped an entire nation for several weeks.

The hall came to live Wednesday when the knockout rounds of the final phase of the tourney kicked off, with hundreds of football fans trooping into the venue to cheer their favorite teams among the fourteen regional champions, who made it to the knockout stage of the competition.

Golden FC of Lagos and Kwara Football Academy (KFA), rolled off the games, with the former wining on 3-2 on penalties after scores were tied 2-2 after extra time.

The winner of today’s final match will earn N5m while the runners-up get N2m. The third placed team will make N1m
