Bauchi-The Sa’ad Zungur Network for Good Governance has said that the administration of Governor Isa Yuguda under-developed the people of Bauchi State in its first term of four years, wondering why Yuguda was re-elected for a second term by the people.

The Network in a letter to the Speaker of the State House of assembly over the alleged non-performance of the Yuguda administration, stressed the need for the House to address the issue of such under-development as well as the backwardness of state culminating into poverty, illiteracy and disease.

It stated that in 2006,  Bauchi was rated as one of the investor- friendly states in the country by the African Development Bank, ADB, which then led to improvements in the education sector thereby that also necessited the plan for the establishment of a state university.

“The plan received your legislative backing and to date the plan is still on the drawing board, please find out what is wrong with the proposed University”, the Network urged the House.

It further observed that the electorates in the state were yet to benefit much from the reported development projects of the government while most of the campaign promises in the last four years were yet to be fulfilled even as the administration had entred the second term.

The letter signed by the Network Public Relation Officer, Mr. Chindo Abdu noted that even execution periods for road contracts awarded several years ago by the Yuguda administration have elapsed without meaningful progress for their completion.
