A large quantity of Cannabis Sativa, also known as Indian Hemp, has landed three men in the net of Adamawa State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
While addressing journalists in Yola, Adamawa State capital, the state commander of the NDLEA, Hassan Zungeru, who paraded the suspects before newsmen, said the purpose was with a view to eliciting the support of the public and alerting them on the inherent danger affecting the abusers of hard drug, their families and the society.
The NDLEA commander said the suspects were arrested with 79 of Cannibis Sativa weighing 656.2kg in Kpasham in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa.
According to him, the drug, allegedly loaded on top of a petroleum tanker and transported from Owo, Akure, Ondo State, was meant for distribution in Ngurore, a village in Yola north of the state, now referred to as hard drug depot.
He said the arrest was a follow-up to the one made from the same Ngurore about three months ago in which five suspects (already remanded in prison custody) were arrested with 25 bags of Cannibis Sativa weighing 216.2kg also coming from Ondo State.
